We will miss you Tim Russert

The untimely death today of Tim Russert is a very great shock and will more than likely be felt for a while. As a Political Science major in college and a lover of politics in America I admired him greatly and watched him most every Sunday on Meet the Press.

As I listen to the tributes from his colleagues and friends about this man’s life some of the same messages came across over and over again. One characteristic stands out, he listened to people and actually heard them and responded accordingly.

Tim was in a profession that is not highly respected yet he valued what he did so much that his own integrity transcended the average news media personality. He made it a point to be the best at what he did and succeeded. He made his profession better because of who he was.

In our own professions that is something we can aspire to.

We will miss you Tim!
